About Our Approach
A Clear Approach To
Commercial Asbestos.
Glasgow Asbestos Services helps commercial buyers understand the work their buildings need, from the first investigation to ongoing management and planned removal.

We focus on the decisions faced by facilities managers, contractors, landlords and people responsible for schools, offices and industrial premises. The useful starting point is the building, its existing records and the activity you need to carry out.
A survey for normal occupation serves a different purpose from an intrusive investigation before a strip out. A laboratory test identifies a sample, while an air test addresses airborne fibres under specified conditions. Our service guides explain those differences so your enquiry can begin with the right question.
Scope Before Commitment
An agreed scope should identify the premises, purpose, access arrangements and any limits to the work. Clear records matter at every stage, whether you are commissioning a survey, planning removal or reviewing a management plan. We encourage buyers to share existing reports early so gaps can be identified before attendance.
When you send an enquiry, we use the information to understand your requirement. With the agreement you give in the form, your details may be passed to a suitable local firm to respond. You can then discuss the proposed work, confirm competence and agree commercial terms before making an appointment.
Standards That Match The Task
Asbestos work must follow the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. HSE’s HSG264 gives survey guidance and HSG248 provides analytical guidance. Higher-risk removal work requires a current HSE licence, and testing and air monitoring require the appropriate accredited laboratory competence.
These requirements describe the checks relevant to the task. Before appointment, ask the proposed firm for evidence covering the actual service, including its current licence where required and relevant UKAS accreditation scope. Our website does not replace that appointment process.
Scottish waste handling also needs the appropriate SEPA arrangements and special waste records. If removal forms part of a wider refurbishment, agree the waste route, independent analyst requirements and handover documentation as part of the project plan.
Useful Information, Kept Usable
An asbestos report should help the next person who needs to work on the building. Keep locations recognisable, limitations visible and completed actions linked to the register. A management plan should explain who is responsible and how contractors receive relevant information.
If you do not know which service fits, tell us what decision you need to make. A short description of the site, proposed work and existing evidence is more useful than choosing a survey type by name alone.
